Creating a Green Planet
Long long ago.......
Fifty years ago, plastics were not as ubiquitous as they are today, plastics had not yet entered our food chain, our organs, our blood or our breast milk; and seabirds had not yet been diagnosed with a new disease called "plastics disease". Today, our planet is becoming a plastic dumping ground. If left unchecked, plastics will prevent us from realizing the goal of sustainable development. Plastic pollution is one of the most important environmental problems facing the world today, and the widespread use and long-term existence of plastic products have led to the accumulation of large quantities of plastic garbage, which has had a serious negative impact on the ecological environment and biodiversity. The plastic crisis urgently requires all mankind to come up with countermeasures to solve it.
Did you know? Nearly 80% of the world's plastic waste cannot be properly disposed of.
Nearly 80% of plastic waste ends up in landfills or natural environments where it cannot be effectively disposed of, which creates a huge burden and pollution on our ecosystem. According to statistics, about 51 million tons of plastic are released into the natural environment every year, this amount is equivalent to the weight of eight Great Pyramids of Giza.
What can we do for our green home?
Plastic is an unavoidable item in our daily life, and all of its "environmentally unfriendly" attributes come from "disposable". In order to solve the problem of white pollution caused by plastics, we have to rely mainly on waste classification and recycling, and in fact, most of the plastics can be re-made into new items through different professional processes. However, due to the lack of environmental awareness and knowledge, a lot of plastics that should have gone to recycling points to fulfill their new mission have become complete garbage.
What can we do as ordinary people? Learn more about environmental protection, start from the daily small things, reduce the use of disposable plastic products; do a good job of garbage classification, let all plastics that can enter recycling points regain their value.
For environmental sustainability, XIAMEN BH is taking action!
Hotel toiletries involve the most plastic bottles, so the sustainability of our products has long been one of our main concerns. Our products are packaged in sustainable materials, mainly recycled RPET plastic, which is recovered from post-consumer use. Today, the luxury brands we represent use 80% RPET recycled plastic while others use 40% RPET recycled plastic, and we will be moving towards 100% RPET recycled plastic for all of our products in the future.
